🌡 Brooder Temperature Control

Reduce heat by ~3°C per week as chicks develop feathers. Watch for huddling (too cold) or panting/wing-spreading (too hot).

After Week 6: Remove heat lamp. Ensure night temps never fall below 18°C. Transition chicks to the grow-out pen.

🥚 Brooding Hen — Egg Countdown

Set Sitting Date

Standard incubation = 21 days. Enter when your hen started sitting (or eggs were set in the incubator).

🌡 Keep nest at 37.5–38°C.
🕯 Candle eggs at Day 7 & 14 — remove clear (infertile) eggs.
🚫 Do not disturb hen during hatching.

🔬 Feed Nutritional Value Guide

Feed is the biggest cost and the key to health. Use commercial feeds matched exactly to age and purpose.

💰 Cost & Management Tips

Buy in Bulk

Purchase 50–100 kg lots. Store in sealed containers away from moisture and rodents.

Transition Gradually

80/20 → 60/40 → 50/50 → 20/80 → 100% new feed over 5 days. Prevents digestive upset and feed rejection.

Calcium for Layers

Offer crushed oyster shell or limestone grit free-choice from Week 18. Thin shells = calcium deficiency.
